Established bearing the name of Electrical Office under the auspicious of the Public Works Department providing electricity power to its first consumer, the wireless and telegraph department.

Electrical Service Office upgraded to Electrical Department and started supplying electricity to the whole of Brunei Town.

Gadong Diesel Power Station started operating.

Temburong Diesel Power Station was constructed.

The first Power Station to use a Gas Turbine in Seria began operation.

Gadong Gas Turbine Power Station 1 was completed.

Department of Electrical Services administrated under the Ministry of Development.

Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Saadul Khairi Waddien Lumut Power Station officially opened.

Department of Electrical Services then transferred and administrated under Energy Department, Prime Minister's Office.

Bukit Panggal Power Station, which generates 116 MW was completed. This power station uses Combined Cycle technology where the hot heat generated from the gas turbines is reused to heat the steam turbine to increase the efficiency of electricity generation.

Tenaga Suria Brunei (TSB), which produces 1.2MW, was completed.
